Gametes are transferred to the fimbrial end of the fallopian tube immediately after ova aspiration.
Requirements
- At least 10 million sperms per millilitre after preparation.
- At least 1 normal Fallopian tube.
- The production of 3 or more oocytes.
- Hormone treatment (superovulation) to ensure the development of several oocytes.
- Monitoring of follicular growth.
- Induction of ovulation.
- The sperm sample is prepared approximately 2 hours before the aspiration of the oocytes.
- Laparoscopic (general anaesthetic) aspiration of oocytes.
- Transfer of 3-5 (mature) oocytes plus a sample of sperm into the upper part of the fallopian tube.
- Pregnancy test (12-15 days after transfer).

Number of visits to centre
- 7 to 10 per cycle for the female
- 2 visits for the male
Clinical pregnancy chance at TMC Fertility Centre is 50% per cycle
