Blastocyst Culture and Transfer

We offer the option for blastocyst culture and transfer for selected cases. Blastocyst transfer is done on day 5 or 6 after the oocyte retrieval. Certain criteria will be used to decide for blastocyst transfer, including the number of follicles, number of fertilized eggs, and the number of good quality embryos on day 2 or 3.

Blastocyst culture and transfer is an excellent technique for selecting the embryo(s) with the most potential to implant. It is useful for reducing the risk for multiple pregnancies since we will transfer only one or two blastocysts compared to the average of more than 2 embryos for Day 2 or 3 transfer. In our centre, blastocyst transfer offers better clinical pregnancy, implantation and delivery rates, while reducing the risks of multiple pregnancies.

We have had a great start to our Blastocyst Transfer programme. All our first 6 cases became pregnant. See Our initial results.
