At the centre, it is important to feel that you are getting the most out of your consultations. Make sure you do by:
- Asking questions
- Taking time out to think things through – there can be a lot of difficult issues to consider
- Remembering that the staff at our fertility centre are there to help you make the right choice
What are the tests done at the centre?
For women
- A full hormone profile taken between day two to day four of your menstrual cycle to assess any hormone imbalance
- Blood tests to find out if you are ovulating
- An ultrasound to look at the condition of your uterus and ovaries
- Follicle tracking – a series of ultrasound scans to follow the development of a follicle in order to determine whether an egg is developing
- Hysterosalpingogram – an x-ray to check your fallopian tubes.
- Laparoscopy – a procedure in which a dye is injected through your cervix while the pelvis is inspected via a telescope. The telescope is equipped with a tiny camera to check for tubal blockage.
